OK let's talk about it and that's it.

Monday I'm having heart surgery here in Las Vegas
Possibly open heart. First of all I'm having an angiogram/Angioplasti.
If that doesn't work out then we go all the way with Bypass surgery. About 50% end up as Bypass patients.

Sometimes the coronary artery(s) are not granted another wish and the coronary Bypass surgery is required.
I'll go for the first choice.
Actually I don't want any of it, but I have been playing around with this heart problem for several years.
A prayer or a thought will be appreciated.
If it's my time, well it's my time.

You guys have been wonderful friends and I appreciated your........................................................ ...........................................................w ell you know.

Kindest regards, walterK

Hey Walter, you'll be right mate just keep your chin up. No matter which procedure is required, the surgeons are excellent and have generally had a lot of practise.

My thoughts will be with you wishing you a rapid recovery.

Cheers

Kim

Walter, you remain in my prayers for a full recovery, as brother Hesh said, we need you here, you might be older than me but you're still too young to leave.

May God protect you through this.

Walter, I had quintuple bypass surgery about nine years ago. It's not as bad as you'd think it would be. I was back to work in about three and a half weeks. The worst part is where they cut your legs to get grafting material....yuk.

Walter,

Walter, let me start by saying this can be a life changing event. Notice I did not say life ending event. These procedures, while not without risk, are performed daily with great success. The life changing portion is in regards to how much better you will feel and how much more you will be able to do. Remember this is a positive event not a negative one. Yes, it is your time…but to have yourself healed. You do have wonderful friends here and I am sure they know that they are appreciated. Think of it like repairing a guitar. Sometimes you need to make some of the parts tight again or do some gluing. As you know some people are just experts at it and those are the ones who will be working with you. I guarantee that your attitude and outlook help in the recovery process so start rethinking the way you approach this situation. Don’t let the way you have been feeling interfere with your outlook towards the event and your recovery afterwards. You are going to feel a lot better you just don’t know it yet. I have known many people who have had these types of procedures and the results can be amazing. So focus on what is important and that is your health and your family. Move forward firmly with confidence and think of how much better you will feel and all the things that you will be able to do again.

Sorry to be so long winded but please read this and then read it over again along with all the other posters comments. After reading your post I now understand your situation better and can relate many of your other posts to your health and outlook. I know from experience that these times can be a bit scary and all sorts of things creep into your mind. Please just put on the brakes and look forward. I will look forward to reading your first posting after this is behind you.

Warmest Regards,

Philip

Walter, my thought will be with you on Monday and during your recovery.. Put your trust in your doctors, not to make light of your surgery, but they do do this every day. My brother had to have it done several years ago and today hes in Manitoba bow hunting or was it off the jersey coast tuna fishing this week,, Can't remember because I can't keep track of him anymore.. Never sits still.. Nope had it right,, Manitoba this week,, jersey last week and next week too.. so get ready to go fishing.. It must be part of the rehab
Looking forward to your post in the future.
Mike

Hang in there, Walter. Listen to Philip and everyone else. My father had quadruple bypass at 65 and he was absolutely a new man for the next 15 years. His attitude was superb and it made all the difference.

Walter all the best to you on Monday and the anxiety you are not doubt feeling right now.   You will be in good hands as Las Vegas has some of the best heart specialists in the world!

My prayers are with you. Let us know how you are doing as soon as you are able.

Walter,
Best wishes to you. In my real job, as an engineer, I design guiding catheters, guide wires, balloons catheters and stents used in the angioplasty. You very likely will be treated with something that I have worked on as we have a large share of that market.
These procedures are very scary for the patient. For the physician and people like me that see the thousands of successful cases each day, it can sometimes seem routine.
I know how successful these procedures are and it would probably scare the heck out of me too. I think that is just natural human reaction. Once you get there, they'll give you something to calm you down and keep you calm.
From what I've heard, the doctors in Las Vegas are all top notch. I'm sure you'll be fine.
More prayers for you from close by in So Cal.

Walter, we're with you. I have had numerous relatives, friends and clients who have been through this experience. Although it is scary to have someone tinker with your ticker, everyone I know who has gone through it has come out just fine. But even still, it's not the ideal way to spend your Saturday.

Walter, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Just remember it isn't just the doctors involved in all this, you play a big part as well. So PMA - postive mental attitude. If you have to think about stuff, dwell on all the things that you will get to do that you haven't been able to lately. And all the guitars you are going to build.   Oh wait a minute. I see now, zoot. That's it. Get well gifts of zoot. What a way to score zoot.

Seriously, we will all be thinking about you Monday and not one of us is going to give you permission to do anything else but get better.
